For anyone interested in the study of the Roman army.

Suzanne Heywood

Posted on 4th January 20184th January 2018 By Mars

Brenda Swinbank, later Heywood, is one of the heros of Hadrian’s Wall, undertaking her PhD on the Vallum nearly 70 years ago.

Her other main claim to fame was the work she did on bringing the excavations under York Minster to publication.

Now, Suzanne, her daughter-in-law has written her biography. It is available from: http://www.blurb.co.uk/b/8408166-recollections-of-a-female-archaeologist
